Intro to Kossuth Class
An Intro to Kossuth class is scheduled to begin Sunday, September 16, at 9:30 AM. The class is intended to provide information and interaction for those considering the commitment of baptism or membership here at Kossuth Street. Intro to Kossuth will meet with Pastor Whipple for four Sundays—September 16th, 23rd, 30th, and October 7th. If you plan on attending, please contact the church office so we have a rough count.
Meal for College Students
There’s no meal service at Purdue on Sunday evenings, so college students are invited to the Dittmar’s (1844 Sandpiper Dr., West Lafayette) for a meal tonight at 6 PM. If you need directions, see Marty.
Item Needed
Do you have a turkey fryer you are willing to let the youth group borrow for Fry Night on September 29th? If so, please contact Kim Ridge or Jesse Magnuson.
Wednesdays are Warming Up!
Beginning this Wednesday, September 12th, three exciting things will take place. For the adults and high school youth, Pastor Whipple will be teaching a seminar called Connecting with Our Head, focusing on learning to pray the words and truths of scripture from our hearts back to the Father. For children ages 3 years through 5th grade, there will be classes that will take the exciting themes from this summer’s VBS and build on them, including songs, games, activities, and interactive Bible stories with life application. The Jr. High Youth group, now known as Metamorphosis, will be meeting all year and will incorporate cell groups along with focused teaching and activities. As always, a nursery will be provided. So plan to give your week a boost and come be a part of the mid-week programs starting this fall. You’ll be glad you did.
Reliable Men
After taking the summer off, KSBC’s Men’s Ministry, called Reliable Men, is gearing up to minister to men in this church and community starting September 15th at 6:30 AM. All men are invited to join this group which meets every other Saturday morning in the Ministry Center for a hearty breakfast, fellowship, teaching and accountability. If you have any questions contact Darrin Wilcoxson.
Men’s Basketball
Men, get your basketball shoes out of the closet because Men’s Basketball is starting up again tonight! Come to the Ministry Center ready to play at 7:00 PM. Can’t make it this week? No problem! The men will be there to play every Sunday evening.
Pager Alert!
Parents, the nursery is missing three pagers (numbers 3, 9 and 17). Please check to see if you have any and return it to the nursery. Thanks!
Choir Practice
Warm up those vocal chords! Choir is starting up again this Wednesday, September 12th. Practices will be held from 7:30-8:30 Wednesday evenings, allowing sufficient time to attend prayer meeting beforehand. The choir will be singing frequently on Sunday mornings and will prepare for the Christmas Program scheduled for December 7th-9th. If you have any questions, email Ben Whipple at ben@ksbc.net, or call the church office at 448-1620.
Joel Brovont in Concert
Come out this Friday evening to hear our own Joel Brovont in concert. This free concert begins at 7 PM in the sanctuary. Bring friends!
Office Hour Alteration
It’s official: the church office’s hours are now 8 AM-12 PM and 1 PM– 5 PM Tuesday-Friday. If you call the church on Mondays, you can leave a voicemail and your call will be returned at the earliest opportunity. Pastoral staff will keep their normal working schedule during the week and will, as always, respond to phone messages and emails promptly. Keep in mind that when the office is closed, the 29th Street doors will be also! Please plan accordingly.
